Cherry Picking

Miu Miu has done it again, and  Ms. Prada’s eclectic personality shines through on this incredible sandal design. It’s complete with mixed leathers in patent and metallic, and topped with glittered cherries. If I had to  pick only one shoe for the season, this one would be it! Maybe I’ll get lucky and someone will buy these for me on Valentine’s Day. (Pretty please.. with a cherry on top?)

Today I’m meeting with some of my favorite accessory vendors to place buys for Roadkill Ranch & Boutique. Since statement jewelry is still important, I will definitely keep my eyes open for something like this multi-chain choker by Michael Kors. I think we can all admit that we like chains to some degree. (It’s almost like saying we eat Godiva chocolate when it’s before us.)

This weekend marks the date for the 63rd annual Grand National Roadster show in Pomona, Ca. This event attracts car-lovers and the scene that revolves it (including a huge emphasis on Rockabilly and Pin-Up fashions). Check out amazing roadsters from all over the country competing for awards, listen to bands, shop the clothing booths, and see the Trophy Girl Contest. Pictured above is Becky Sue Huff (last year’s Trophy Girl winner) in a Rock Steady shirt from Roadkill Ranch and Boutique. It’s a great day for a car show, so step on it!

When I look at this ice-cream bar exhibit, I want to scream with excitement! It makes me so happy! I seriously wish that this was in my kitchen. NOW!!!

I feel like ditching all of my responsibilities today and sneaking away somewhere fabulous with an ice-cream bar .

Dean Project in NY represents some of the best contemporary artists. When I plan my next buy trip for Roadkill Ranch & Boutique this gallery will definitely be on my destination list.

Karl Lagerfeld is an unrivaled master of design, and this fashion show is my favorite yet. He successfully transformed the Grand Palais in Paris into a private jet setting for the Chanel Couture show. The guests boarded a real-like airplane with numbered seats, while the models entered through the cockpit and walked down the aisle. He definitely knows how to take the stage to different heights, giving a whole new meaning to “Runway”.

Alexis Mabille’s  2012 Spring Collection is in full bloom. The talented Parisian launched his line in 2005 after working for prominent fashion houses like Christian Dior and Nina Ricci. He offers a flamboyant, unisex collection that is over-the-top with vibrant colors and dramatic accessories. The models were clothed in monotone looks with matching floral hats and perfectly, painted face makeup. The line is extravagant and frivolous reminding us that color is the new black and it’s OK to have a little fun!

I love Longchamp’s ad campaigns and this commercial is so great. Maybe I should do something like this for Roadkill Ranch & Boutique? My creative juices are flowing, so input is welcomed. Click on the picture to see the clip, it’s awesome!

I love the rain! And this outfit is the perfect ensemble for having fun around town. First stop is Starbucks, then off to LACMA for the Ellsworth Kelly exhibit. I’m planning on lunch at Lemonade – known for their gourmet vegetarian, and if time permits, a few thrift stores would be perfect.  I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Ever wonder why the influx of dragon images are so prevalent in the fashion industry lately? According to the Chinese culture, it’s officially the Year of the Dragon, and that means plenty of good fortune for all. Luxury designers like Coach, Tiffany and even Rolls Royce are cashing in on the fire-breathing icon by creating limited-edition pieces. I love this Versace handbag, it sells for $5,017.00 and only  210 pieces were produced world-wide. I’m still trying to convince my husband that the purchase of this bag will bring me riches and fame (he’s pretty sure it will cost me the fortune instead).
