Have you noticed the increasing popularity of the Cambridge satchel? It happens to be the “It” bag of the season with an inspiring story.
When Julie Deane’s six year old daughter was being bullied at school, she needed to transfer her elsewhere. The little girl became withdrawn and sad, so Julie began looking into private school options. Realizing that the tuitions were high, she began making handbags to earn extra money.
With no prior design experience only a passion for change, her determination has paid off. The Cambridge Satchel Company is only five years old and is projected to revenue over 20 million dollars this year. Julie (pictured above) is an advocate for anti-bullying, and can now give and support anti-bullying charities and enterprise.
I am buying my Cambridge satchel today in support of anti-bullying! And, it’s also an amazing, non-fussy, reasonably priced, totally functional bag. Justified!
