Fancy Pants

Paris Fashion Chanelhbz-Stockholm-FW-082912-03-lgnhbz-Marant-RS13-1939-lgn

I see London, I see France, I see someone’s “Fancy Pants”!

It’s the year of the pant! Look for crazy-wild patterns, embellished cuffs, studs, sparkles, feathers and lace on anything from a legging to a wide trouser. It’s going to be a fun season, so update your wardrobe with some “Fancy Pants”. Or, get out your Bedazzler and a glue gun and create your own designs.

Stay Stylish!

Doll Clothes

Here’s my “Freaky Friday Fashion” pic of the week. You all know how much I love Barbie, but I’m not sure if I’m happy about her hanging upside down naked from a skirt. Perhaps the designer is paying homage to Barbie and her amazing flexibility skills?

Or, maybe the designer was playing “nudist colony” Barbie and got inspired. Oh don’t act like you never played “nudist colony” Barbie. C’mon! If you were raised in the ’70s, lived in California, pretended you were a Charlie’s Angel, wore Dolphin shorts and tube tops, most likely you played “nudist colony” Barbie. (OK, perhaps spending weekends at my dad’s house in Malibu and Topanga Canyon had something to do with it– there were a lot of “colonies” around there.)

I’m going to say that this is a tribute to Barbie’s freedom. She can be anything and do anything and is not afraid to show it.

This definitely gives new meaning to doll clothes. Now, if we can only get someone to make a shirt from Ken dolls, this outfit would be complete.

Fun Zone

Last night was an incredible evening of theatrical mis behavin’. My fabulous, thespian, soul sister Melinda took me on a date to see Teatro Zin Zanni in Costa Mesa. It’s a  high-end traveling circus act with a 5 course gourmet meal. The show is performed under a 92 year old Spiegletent with carved wood, brass fixtures and amazing stained glass detailing.

The show is called “Love, Chaos and Dinner” so we knew there was a 100% chance of a really good time. It was 3 hours of dancing, laughing and singing. It was a mix of Broadway, Vaudeville, Cabaret, Burlesque, and Cirque de Soleil, with a dash of Rock n’ Roll. The salads came out dancing, the cast was naughty, and the band was awesome! (Especially the drummer; Evan Stone.)

When Dr. “D” (the quacky charlatan with the magic elixir drops) turned  into “The Queen of Hearts” and the yodeling dominatrix came out with her whip, the crowd went wild.

So, if you’re looking for love, chaos and dinner, this show is for you! Set in the nightclub of your Roaring Twenties dreams, this show will not only unleash your inner diva but will escape you to a theatrical, fantasy land. (Just don’t take more than 2 drops of Dr. D’s elixir!)

The show runs through December 31st, at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts. For more info call 714 556-2787.

Confessions of a Fashion blogger

It was such an honor to be invited to “TweetUp” the VIP Blogger Convention in Orange County. The event was held at “The Outlets at Orange” (formerly known as “The Block”), and was not only a fashion gathering, but also a meeting to raise awareness about the outlets and the shopping center’s official name change.

Café Tu Tu Tango and Lascari’s Italian Cucina offered up a delicious food spread. “Sweets from Heaven” had an irresistible, help-yourself, candy bar and the canned Perrier kept flowing all night.

We broke up into groups with tour guides and began to blog, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and film, as we were led to the major outlets for some fun and games.

Our first stop was Nordstrom Rack where they entertained us with a live fashion show and a trend report.

Next was Saks 5th Off where we were encouraged to match a pair of shoes to an outfit and post it to Instagram or Twitter. There were prizes for the first tweets, but I kept getting sidetracked with all of the amazing shoes at great prices and lagged a bit in the contest. My “Shiny Object Syndrome” was kicking in and the glass chandeliers became a point of interest.

It wasn’t until we got to Neiman Marcus Last Call when my ADD overtook me. We were supposed to run around the store and find orange signs that depicted the fall trends. The first person to find them all would win a prize. But, I was completely stopped in my tracks, when I literally ran into a Chanel gown covered in sequins and beads. The gown was displayed in a glass case right smack in the middle of the hard aisle. So, it was pretty much a roadblock for me not finishing the scavenger hunt first.

It got even worse after that, Michael Kors bags were calling my name; Kate Spade pumps were jumping out at me; and the Rachel Zoe dress I tried on was AWESOME!!! Oops, I meant the Rachel Zoe dress I was “going” to try on was awesome. Oh, what’s the point of hiding it? The real reason I didn’t come in first was because I took a detour into the dressing room. There, I said it! Can you blame me? That’s what happens when you throw a fashion addict into a sea of discounted, designer goods! That reminds me, I better get back to The Outlets at Orange, I still have some things on hold.

Bear-y Bad!

Here’s my “Freaky Friday Fashion” pic for the week.

“Once upon time, there were three bears and a model.” Hmmmm… you finish the rest of the story, I’m running late this morning. I hope everyone has an amazing weekend!

Madonna the “Queen of Pop” has chosen Georgia May Jagger (the daughter of legendary rock star Mick Jagger) to be the newest face of her clothing line, “Material Girl”. With daughter Lourdes (AKA Lola) at her side assisting in the marketing and designing, Madge’s junior line will go global this summer. The collection will be sold exclusively at Macy’s, and Georgia May Jagger will appear in all of the back-to-school ads.

“To be handpicked by Madonna and Lola as the new face of Material Girl is truly amazing,” said Jagger.

Congratulations Georgia May!

PS-  Tell your dad I want to make mad, passionate…Oh never mind!
